The Child Dental Benefits Schedule

At Albany Place Dental Practice, we believe in starting healthy dental habits early in life. By teaching children how to take care of their teeth, they can avoid more serious and costly dental issues later in life.

The Details and Getting Started

If your child is between 2-17 years of age, they are eligible for basic dental services up to $1,052 every two years through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CBDS). Please note that any balance left can be carried over from the first to second year; however, at the end of the second year, no remaining amount can be carried over.

For your child to use their benefits at our practice, the process involves:

• Checking to ensure eligibility, then booking an initial examination with our team. Please inform them that CBDS will be used
• Bring your Medicare card to your appointment
• Before starting treatment, we require a consent form to be filled out and signed
• The initial examination, cleaning and X-rays will be carried out, bulk-billed with no gap
• Upon completion, a treatment plan will be discussed with you for any further services that are necessary, as well as associated fees and another consent form being signed.

*Benefits claimed with the Child Dental Benefits Schedule cannot be claimed from dental health funds.
